Use cases Short code prerequisites Configuration Text to Apply process Permissions

Text to Apply is a product configuration that combines Job Search and Apply into a cohesive candidate SMS application process for mobile-first teams. Candidates are able to search for jobs with a keyword and find their ideal fit, selecting Apply Now on the job result will launch a Apply conversation for the candidate.

The Text to Apply experience can scale in several ways. At its most basic, Text-to-apply simply uses a targeted keyword to find specific jobs. At it’s most complex, Text-to-apply can serve as an integrated application experience, where candidates' full application can be submitted via an SMS conversation.

    Use cases

    • Configure short codes and keywords, enabling candidates to text specific keywords to a phone number/short code and receive personalized job recommendations that match their query. (SMS)
    • Refine candidate job search results by configuring job search parameters using standard and custom job attributes.
    • Engage candidates through automated SMS conversations (Chat-to-Apply) when they apply for jobs.

    Short code prerequisites

You must have an existing short code to continue to the configuration process below. If you do not have an existing short code, contact your CS Representative and request one.

    Configuration

You must have Job Search enabled for your account, which can be found in the Job Search section of Client Setup. If you do not have access to Client Setup, confirm with your CS Representative that this setting is enabled for your account.

    1. Select All Apps in the top left corner of the header and then Settings in its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Channels in the Platform section.
    3. From the Keywords section in the left panel, select Short Code.
    4. Click into the preferred short code number.
    5. Toggle on Job Search in the modal that opens.
    6. Toggle on Allow candidate to search for job location in the Job Search Parameters section.
    7. In the same section, select + Add Attribute and then the preferred attribute. This selector will support a variety of Standard and Custom Job Attributes available on the job feed or for scraping.
    8. (Optional) Toggle on Limit search to attribute values to limit search results based on any specified attribute value, applying consistently across all candidate searches.
      • Note: If Job Title or Job Categories is selected as the attribute, an additional setting called Use exact matches for the attribute values entered will display. This feature limits search results to exact matches for the selected values, but only for the first search. Instead of using the query operator, which allows broader search logic like partial matches, it filters results to match exactly what was entered. This filter does not apply to subsequent candidate searches.
    9. Enter the preferred values in the Value field. The entries on this field will function as filters to the job search service in order to render results.
    10. Repeat steps #7-9 for all necessary attributes.
    11. Select Save.

    Text to Apply process

    1. The start message (Q&A) and the job search workflow messages (“Sounds good! what are you looking to do” OR “Great! Where are you looking to work?”) are skipped initially.
    2. The keyword used should be mapped to a value field and an attribute available on the job feed. If no match is found the job search parameter will not be applied.
    3. After presenting the filtered results if the candidate requests for a different job, location, brand etc the search will reset to the new filter applied while retaining some context of the previous search.

For example: Job Search Parameters set are for brand “Morrison Healthcare” and location “Las Vegas”

    • Candidate: Texts the word Morrison to 75000
    • Your AI Assistant: Great! Take a look at the recommended positions I found for you in Las Vegas
    • Candidate: I am looking specifically for a cook position, do you have any?
    • Your AI Assistant: Take a look at the recommended cook positions I found for you in Las Vegas
      • Note: Here the search should retain the brand = Morrison and the location = Las Vegas and only update the job category.

This should also apply if the search conducted is Any = location, job, anywhere, etc.

    Permissions

By default, only Paradox Admins will have full access to the Channels page. All other users except Basic/Limited Users will have view access. Access can be granted or restricted as needed from the Short Code Keywords permission (under the Channels parent permission) in Roles and Permissions.
