Upload a one-time file Employee Feed processing statuses

This guide outlines the steps you should take to upload a one-time file in Data Feeds.

Important Note for User Files: An Ignore File Updates toggle is listed under the employee’s profile from the Employees section of the Roles and Permissions page. Toggling this on will prevent the employee’s data from being updated even if their name is listed on a user file.

    Upload a one-time file

Users with full access to Data Feeds can complete the below steps.

    1. Select All Apps in the top left corner of the header and then Settings in its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Data Feeds under the Automation section.
    3. From the left panel, select One-time under the Employees or Locations section.
    4. Select the Upload Employee/Location File button from this section.
    5. Drag a file into or click to browse your CSV file from the slide-out drawer that opens.
    6. Once a file is selected you will see a slide-out with a CSV Column, which displays the column headers from your file; an Example Value column, which provides the second row of values from the file; and an Import As column, where you will map your values to system values. Update the selections to the Import As column.
      • Note for Employee Files only: Another section of the slide-out drawer will display for mapping user roles. All system user roles within the account will display (Company/Account Admin, Power User, etc.). For each role, input the value that the file has included. If more than one value on the file maps to a user role, select the Add Value button and add the additional value.
        • Additional Note: For users added through Data Feeds, a welcome email will not be sent. Users can use the Forgot Password functionality to set up their accounts.
    7. Once all mapping is completed, select the Upload button.

    Employee Feed processing statuses

When an Employee Feed is processing, you can view its processing statuses from the File Summary. These statuses include the following:

    • Import employees
    • Import employee contacts
    • Import roles and permissions
    • Import hiring team

As the file gets processed, these statuses will update to:

    • – This status has successfully processed.
    • – This status is processing.
    • – This status has not processed yet.
    • – A processing error has occurred for this status. Learn how to manage errors in the following section.
