Event Builder: Recurring Rules section
Table of Contents
Within the Recurring Rules section of the Event Builder, users with full access to the Events permission will set the rules from when the recurring event should start, should end, and the frequency of the occurrences within the entire recurring event. To do this,
- The user will need to create an event and then complete the Overview section.
- From the Recurring Rules section, select a date on the calendar.
- In the slide-out drawer that opens, select the values for the following fields.
- Start Date of First Occurrence – This is the start date of the first event.By default, the date you selected on the calendar will be shown as the start date.
-
Start Time of First Occurrence – This is the start time of the first event. By default, the start time will be 8:00am.
- Note: The time selected here will automatically be the start time for all event occurrences within the recurring event. After the recurring event is created, the user can customize the start and end time per individual occurrence.
- End Date of First Occurrence – This is the end date of the first event. By default, the date you selected on the calendar will be shown as the end date.
- End Time of First Occurrence – This is the end time of the first event. By default, the end time will be 5:00pm.
-
Frequency – This selector is where you can set the preferred recurring rules. By default, the frequency will be set to Weekly, showing the day of the week that you selected, but you can update this selector to Once, Daily, Weekly, or Bi-Weekly.
- Note: If you maintain or select Weekly or Bi-Weekly, you will see the On These Days section where you can select the days that this event will occur for the frequency set.
- End of Recurring Event – This is when the entire recurring event will end. By default, the last day of the month will be the date shown.
- Select Save.
- Click Next in the top right corner of the page. This will open the Jobs section.
Multi-day recurring events
You have the ability to create multi-day event occurrences within a recurring event by:
- Clicking, dragging, and dropping over multiple days on the calendar.
- Selecting multiple days within the Create Event(s) slide-out drawer.
The difference here is you will see that the start and end dates are not the same. That is because the end date shown is representative of the date you ended on when you clicked and dragged.
- Note: The max amount of days for a multi-day occurrence is seven. By default, the frequency will remain Weekly. However, you will not see the On These Days section as a multi-day occurrence, as it does not apply to that logic.
