Parent toggles can only be enabled by your CS Representative/Paradox Admin.
The Job Search section of Client Setup supports the Job Search product and includes the following settings:
-
Job Search – This enables the Job Search product for the account. This will be enabled for you if approved for use.
- Environment – This will display as either Staging or Production, depending on the environment in which the account was created, and will be read-only by default.
-
Search Company – This is all of the company's job feeds that are available in the CEM, following a career site scrape, job feed consumption, etc. Multiple feeds can be selected here for customers who have jobs funneling in from multiple sources but would like all of those jobs to be accessible to candidates via search.
-
Notes:
- If Conversational ATS is enabled for the account, then Paradox Jobs will be pre-selected and read-only. If External ATS Job Management is enabled for the account, then Integrated Jobs will be pre-selected and read-only.
- This selection is account level, meaning that the selection made here will apply to ALL use cases of Job Search across the account (i.e. on a Web Widget, in ERP, via SMS, etc.).
- Today, we do not have the ability to configure different feeds for different sources of the AI Assistant/different communication channels.
-
Paradox Jobs from Child Accounts – This option can be selected in order to configure Job Search at an account level based on jobs aggregated by parent ID. This is a beneficial option for Franchise customers.
- Note: Currently, this cannot be selected with additional job feeds, which will appear disabled when this option is selected.
-
Notes:
-
Deliver SMS Job Results As – This will allow you to select how job results will display to candidates. Options include:
-
Text List – This option will deliver job results to the candidate via SMS in a text list format. This is essentially the results as if they were written out by a person via a keyboard on a phone. This is the default selection once Job Search is enabled.
- Use case: Restaurant/retail customers whose job requisitions are all evergreen and/or straight-forward where a candidate doesn’t feel the need to read through a job description to understand the role.
-
Web Link – This option will deliver job results to the candidate via SMS in a web link format. This is a hyperlink that sends the candidate to a web link that displays their search results in a UI very similar to the web experience for Job Search.
- Use case: Customers whose candidates really need to read the job description for a requisition prior to applying.
-
Text List – This option will deliver job results to the candidate via SMS in a text list format. This is essentially the results as if they were written out by a person via a keyboard on a phone. This is the default selection once Job Search is enabled.
-
Location Search Radius – This setting will enable the AI Assistant to search for jobs within the designated mile radius around the candidate’s preferred location. This is based on the shortest distance from Point A to Point B, not the actual driving distance. Options include:
- 5 miles
- 10 miles
- 15 miles
- 20 miles
- 25 miles (default)
- 50 miles
- 100 miles
-
Topic Triggers for Search – This setting allows you to configure which Candidate Q&A topics trigger a job search engagement. You can select/deselect options to customize it to your team's needs. When these Q&A topic(s) are detected, job search will trigger instead of sending the Q&A response (i.e. standard job search logic). Default selections include:
- Jobs
- Jobs: Search
- Jobs: Locations
- Jobs: Availability
- Note: If you want to request additional topics that will trigger job search, contact your CS Representative so that they can submit this as a service request with an explanation of your use case/reasoning.
-
Search Parameters – This settings dictates what job data the AI Assistant can search by when a candidate sends a job search query. Essentially, you should select all the options in the list that your team has data on in your job feed and deselect any options that are not present in the feed.
-
Recommendations:
-
Job Location – This should usually always be selected. The exceptions are usually for customers whose jobs are all central to one location.
- Use Case: This configuration is best for restaurant/retail customers whose job titles/reqs are all evergreen and therefore share the same titles.
-
Job Description – This is a part of our standard config for relevancy scoring; however, this is good to deselect if your job descriptions have a lot of extra data that needs to conflict with candidate search.
- Use Case: This setting is commonly deselected for restaurant/retail use cases with evergreen reqs which share common keywords.
- Employment Type – This should be deselected, unless the client’s job feed includes data around if a job is part-time, full-time, contractor, etc.
- Employment Status – This should be deselected, unless your job feed includes data around if a job is hourly or salaried.
-
Remote – This should be deselected, unless your data feed was processed with remote data. This should have been done during the feed request process. This parameter is deselected by default.
- If an account has Remote selected as a Search Parameter, the setting will enable the AI Assistant to find remote jobs for a candidate. Similar to how default job search logic is based on Candidate Q&A Topics, you can tell whether a job search query is being filtered for “remote” work because it appears in the messaging.
- Additional keywords that will trigger “remote” search logic are the following and variations of the following:
- Work-from-home (WFT)
- Telework (teleworker)
- Telecommute
- Virtual
- Home-based
- When Remote is selected, an additional setting will display:
-
Include remote jobs in location-based search – This will enable the AI Assistant to return remote jobs even if the candidate searches for a location, since remote work can be completed by anyone and anywhere.
- Use Case: This should only be toggled on if your team has noted that remote jobs are explicitly offered in their job requisitions. Otherwise, Job Search and Q&A will conflict when a candidate asks about remote jobs, since the AI Assistant will extract the Q&A topic
-
Include remote jobs in location-based search – This will enable the AI Assistant to return remote jobs even if the candidate searches for a location, since remote work can be completed by anyone and anywhere.
-
Job Location – This should usually always be selected. The exceptions are usually for customers whose jobs are all central to one location.
-
Recommendations:
-
Job Relevancy Score – This configures the accuracy and relevancy of job search results, based on the candidate's query. The relevancy score is built off of the relevant matching of job title, job category, and job description, in that order. Options include:
- 1
- 5 (default)
- 10
- 15
- 20
- 25
- Note on Relevancy Scoring Logic: The higher the relevancy score, the more exact a candidate's job search results will be come. The highest score that is recommended to select is 15. Anything higher than this will result in a significant decrease in the number of results returned because results will become very exact.
-
Prompt Search Expansion After – This enables an alternative job search results experience for candidates when no results would otherwise be returned based on their search query. This setting helps to increase application traffic by offering candidates more job results and boost positive candidate experiences by proactively leading the conversation rather than ending with a “no results returned” message. Options include:
- Never (default)
- One attempt
- Two attempts
- Three attempts
- Four attempts
-
Note on Candidate Experience: After the set number of attempts are reached, the AI Assistant will send the Prompt search expansion after message to the candidate (if this setting is enabled), asking if they want to expand their search based on all job categories or locations.
- If the candidate selects job categories, then the search will expand to include any job title/category within the last location that the candidate searched.
- If the candidate selects job locations, then the search will expand to include any job location with jobs based on the last job title/category that the candidate searched.
-
Note on Candidate Experience: After the set number of attempts are reached, the AI Assistant will send the Prompt search expansion after message to the candidate (if this setting is enabled), asking if they want to expand their search based on all job categories or locations.
-
Infer Location with IP Address – This will enable the AI Assistant to read the candidate's IP location name or phone number (country code) to understand where they are searching from, thus allowing the assistant to automatically return jobs in that location without the candidate offering their location search preference.
- Note: If this is toggled off, then the system will reference the company’s country code to suggest the nearest location to the candidate.
-
Prioritize Location during Search – This setting will enable the AI Assistant to return job results with location as the primary parameter for ordering the job results. While the standard job search logic returns the most relevant search results to candidates within the set location search radius, this configuration changes the search so that the closest jobs to the candidate, but within the set location search radius, are returned at the top of the results list.
- Use Case: This configuration is best for restaurant/retail customers whose job titles/reqs are all evergreen and therefore share the same titles. For this case, the job results will always be the same relevancy-wise (i.e. there is little variability in the titles, so a search for “crew jobs” will always return many jobs, all with the same job title and description for a “Crew Member” requisition).
-
Multiple Location Matching – This setting will allow the AI Assistant to provide the candidate options to chose from if their location query matches multiple locations with the same name.
- A known limitation of job search has been around locations that same name (i.e. “Springfield” is a city name in a million places), so this feature solves this limitation.
- Recommendation: The recommendation is that this setting should always be turned on to optimize the candidate’s experience.
-
Candidate Type (Internal/External) – This setting allows you to use Paradox's standard internal and external job and candidate handling. When enabled, the Audience Type (Internal, External, or both) becomes available on widgets, career sites, events, campaigns, and other channels. Audience Type controls which jobs appear in that channel and sets the Candidate Type assigned to candidates who apply through it.
- Note: On existing accounts where the Job Posting Types setting is available, Candidate Type (Internal/External) also needs to be enabled for that setting to work correctly. Learn more here.
- Include internal jobs in job search – This setting allows internal jobs to be included in Job Search. By default, new accounts as after June 2024 will have this setting disabled.
- Job Alerts – This setting can offer candidates the option to subscribe to job alerts so that they can receive automated notifications about new job opportunities that come up and match their previous search criteria. This is supported for Paradox Jobs, Client Jobs, and integrated ATS jobs, and this is also only available for US-based candidates.
-
Job Requisition ID search – This setting enables the AI Assistant to search for jobs via job requisition IDs. When this settings is enabled, you must configure a RegEx sequence to allow the assistant to search for patterns that match the job requisition IDs. Common patterns are already pre-populated in the setting dropdown for you.
-
Examples:
- If a Job Req IDs follow this format: 123987 – then you’ll want to select the 6 Digit Number option.
- If a Job Req IDs follow this format: ABC9876 – then you’ll want to select the Alphanumeric Sequence option.
- If the Job Req IDs seem to follow none of these pre-populated formats, please contact your CS Representative for help setting up the Job Req ID search pattern.
-
Examples:
-
Enable advanced search – This setting adds additional search parameters for both conversational and career site job search. Once this setting is enabled:
- The Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Code will be available for selection within the Search Parameters dropdown.
- For customers using career site job search, an additional Commute Time Search parameter will be added to career site settings. After selecting the Advanced search mode in the career site settings, you can enable the Enable commute time option. This feature allows candidates to plot travel time based on location (zip code), duration, and transportation mode.
- AI Resume Matching – This works in conjunction with Job Search to provide candidates with jobs that match those relevant to their prior experience. Click here to learn more.
- Search by Store Number – This setting should not be utilized.
-
Chat-to-Apply – This enables Chat-to-apply, which combines job search and the ability to apply to the preferred job, launching an Apply conversation for the candidate.
- Catch-all Conversation – This enables the use of a catch-all conversation, which is designed for jobs that do not require targeted messaging and will be shown to candidates who select Apply Now for any job that does not match any of the saved targeting rules.
-
Geographic Targeting – This will limit the regions within which Job Search is available to candidates. It is commonly only utilized for customers live in multiple regions with Candidate Q&A, but want to test job search in more limited regions. If this setting is configured, job search will only be available in the configured regions.
- Visitors in these locations can view Job Search – In this field, enter the country, US state, or US city where job search can be available. If a candidate attempts to search for a job outside of the regions added here, they will be presented with the Job Search Q&A topic instead of the search experience.
- Set Default Job Search Parameter – This setting can be used to configure default job search parameters at the account level that will apply to all instances of job search. The default job search parameters set will apply to all features that have job search enabled, such as widgets, sites, and phone numbers, among others. If additional job search parameters are configured within another feature, both the default job and feature-specific job search parameters will apply.
-
Keyword Mapping – This allows you to create mappings between known matching keywords and available jobs, ultimately enhancing the job search experience with the help of NLP.
- Add a new keyword to map – In this field, you can enter a term, such as a job title/category, location, employment type, and job status, as well as its associated keywords so that when candidates use any one of these keywords, then the correct jobs will display. An example of this is “Sales” and its associated keywords include “Consultant," “AE,” or “Account Executive.”
- Advanced Keyword Mapping – This setting is an early stages feature that enables enhanced search term matching to improve the quality of job search results by matching additional like-job titles to the candidate’s search keyword. With this setting enabled, when a candidate enters a job title keyword, our system will not only search for that exact title, but also look for similar or related job titles. It does this by checking a comprehensive dataset called the O*NET Occupation dataset, which includes a wide range of job titles and descriptions from various industries. This allows the system to identify and match keywords with other titles that are similar or closely related, helping candidates find relevant job postings even if the exact title they searched for is not included in the feed.
-
Facility Name Mapping – This setting functions similarly to Keyword Mapping. It is used to create mappings between known facility names in a company's job feed and associated facility search terms. Once configured, when a candidate uses any of the associated facility search terms, results will be returned to candidates based on jobs associated to that facility name and mapping criteria.
- Note: The Facility Name you map must exactly match the names found in the job feed. Additionally, the facility name must be included as its own field or attribute in the job scrape/feed.
