Resume parsing will prompt the system to automatically update the candidate's profile with the information provided in their resume. Enabling this feature will display all relevant candidate information directly in their Candidate Profile for easy review without having to open additional documents.
Resume Action Options
The following resume actions are available:
- AI Resume Matching
- Resuming Parsing with Integrations*
- Capture Resume Parsing*
- Manual Resume Upload*
*Denotes that these resume parsing features can be added on to your plan as one package for an additional cost. Please reach out to your CS Representative if you are interested.
Option #1: AI Resume Matching
AI Resume Matching works in conjunction with Job Search to provide candidates with jobs that match those relevant to their prior experience.
Product Dependencies
Requires: Apply + Job Search
Configuration
Candidate Experience
When enabled on the backend by your CS Representative and a candidate initiates a conversation with your AI Assistant, they will see your AI Assistant present an Upload your resume for job recommendations box in the conversation.
This is an optional task, but if the candidate chooses to upload their resume, then it will be parsed and job matches will be returned for the candidate to view. The jobs listed will direct the candidate to the ATS URL when clicked. The candidate’s information from their resume will then be saved under their Candidate Profile.
It is important to note that Job Relevancy Score, Location Search Radius, etc. will not be considered when using this feature.
Your AI Assistant will take the candidate’s last three experiences when their resume is parsed to find the the job results listed. This can skew the results because it is taking multiple search terms into account vs. a candidate’s typical way of searching by just one job title/category.
Option #2: Resume Parsing with Integrations (Add-On)
In enabling Resume Parsing with Integrations, any candidate that is added to your ATS along with their resume will have their information transferred to the CEM via API. Along with this, their resume will be parsed so that their Candidate Profile will contain relevant information.
Configuration
Option #3: Apply Resume Parsing (Add-On)
Document Upload question types within a conversation can be marked as resume parsing questions so that when the candidate uploads their resume, their information is automatically updated within their Candidate Profile.
Configuration
Step #2: Enable resume parsing in the conversation
After this is enabled on the backend by your CS Representative, the resume parsing action can be added to the Document Upload question type on conversations so that when the candidate uploads the resume, the system will automatically populate the information within the candidate’s profile.
If you have an existing resume Document Upload question, follow the steps below:
- Click the question’s action menu, or three dot icon, and then Edit Document Upload in the drop-down menu that opens.
-
Toggle on Enable resume parsing in the Document Upload modal.

- Click Save to close the modal.
- Publish the conversation to finalize the change.
If you need to create a new resume Document Upload question, follow the steps below:
- Click the plus icon underneath the preferred question.

- Select Next Question from the menu that opens.
- Click into the question type box, select Document Upload, and then click Apply.

- A Document Upload modal will open where you can mark the document as required and enable resume parsing.
- Click Save to close the modal.
- Publish the conversation to finalize the change.
Option #4: Manual Resume Upload (Add-On)
Users who upload a candidate’s resume manually will have the option to allow the system to parse resume information and update the Candidate Profile with it.
Configuration
Manual Upload Process
- Click the + Add Resume button under the candidate’s Resume section.
- After uploading the candidate’s resume, toggle on Enable Resume Parsing and then click Upload to upload the document and automatically update the candidate’s information on their Candidate Profile.
