Multiple responses can be chosen for survey questions with a text theme. This will allow your team to collect better responses and understand what is important to candidates, employees, or both.

Navigation

Open the Surveys Builder by clicking the All Apps button in the top ribbon and then clicking Surveys under the Candidates section in the menu that appears.

Enable multi-select surveys

1. Navigate to the Surveys Builder.
2. Open the preferred survey.
3. Navigate to the Content section.
4. Add a new question or open a text themed question. If you added a new question, ensure to update the theme to Text.
5. Check the Allow Multiple Responses box.
   • Note: When this box is checked, the Exclude from Overall Satisfaction and Alerts toggle will be on by default and cannot be disabled until this box is unchecked. However, they will be recorded and available for all reports/dashboards.
     
     
      
6. Enter in all preferred responses. You can now add up to 10 survey responses per text theme.
7. The maximum responses enabled will default to the number of responses on the question. Update the Maximum Responses value to the preferred amount.
   
   
    
8. When the question is finalized, ensure to save the question.
9. Finalize the survey by clicking Finish and Publish.

Candidate experience

The following experiences are defined by the method in which a candidate receives a multi-select survey.

SMS

When multi-select survey questions are sent to a candidate or employee via SMS, then the following copy will be added to the question to let them know that they can select more than one response

• When the max response counter is equal to the number of selection options: Please list all that apply separated by a comma.
• When the max response counter is less than the number of selection options: Please list up to # options separated by a comma.

Responses will be accepted as long as the candidate/employee enters the responses separated by a comma, a space, or no spaces.

Email, widget, or assist

When candidates/employees receive a multi-select question via email, widget, or assist, then the question will include the following copy:

• When the max response counter is equal to the number of selection options: Select all that apply.
• When the max response counter is less than the number of selection options: Select up to # responses.

In addition to this, the candidate/employee will have to either click Submit Feedback or Next to go to the next question.

If an additional feedback question is included, only one additional feedback will exist per question regardless of how many options are selected.
