    Opt-in messages cannot be removed.

The first time a user receives a message from any short code or long code number, your AI Assistant will send a message in order to gain permission to keep messaging them. This is a requirement from US carriers but will affect any SMS number tied to our system.

It is also important to note that this applies to every phone number your company owns individually. Each unique number that sends a candidate a message must first send the above message, regardless of if the candidate has opted in to texts from other numbers that brand owns.

    SMS message copy

The message copy sent to your candidates is as follows:

Welcome to {Brand Name}. Msg&data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or email smshelp@paradox.ai. Text STOP to cancel, or PREF to update.

Once the candidate receives this message, the originally scheduled communication will be delivered. Candidates do not need to do anything upon receiving this opt-in message.

    • Note: If you have multiple phone numbers, users will receive the welcome message for each unique number that attempts to contact them.

Contact your CS Representative if you need your brand name updated within your opt-in messaging.

    WhatsApp message copy

This feature will be supported in WhatsApp as well, in order to keep the experience consistent with SMS. The copy for this is slightly different:

Welcome to {#brand-name}. Reply HELP for help. Text STOP to cancel, or PREF to update.

    FAQs

If a candidate applies to multiple jobs on the same number, will they receive the opt-in message multiple times?

No. The opt-in is tracked by number for each company, meaning that the candidate will receive the opt-in message the first time they apply for a job on a number. Subsequent applications will not re-trigger the message to send.

Will the candidate receive this message again if they are being contacted from a new number for the first time, even if they have already received this from a different number in the account?

Yes. Each number needs to be “opted-in” separately (simply receive the message, no response required by the candidate), so a candidate may receive this message multiple times (once for each number).

How will this with products that already have an outbound opt-in message?

The welcome message will always be the first message that is sent to a candidate if it is the first time they are being contacted by a number. If a product has require opt-in enabled, then this message will send before that gets sent.

What happens if the welcome message fails to deliver?

If the welcome message fails to deliver, the system will keep attempting to re-send it until it is delivered. There is no logic to automatically retry a set number of times until the undelivered message is delivered. Rather, the next time the candidate is about to receive a message from this number, we will first send the opt-in welcome message.

Does the candidate need to take any action upon receiving this message, such as confirming their opt-in?

No. Current regulations only require that Paradox sends the candidate this information, but they do not have to reply or take any other actions that constitute consent. As such, your AI Assistant will send the originally scheduled message to the user immediately following the welcome message in all cases.

Why are candidates receiving multiple "welcome" or opt-in texts from my AI Assistant?

This only occurs whenever the RT Admin back-up phone number has to be used rather than the regular Paradox RT Admin short code number, which happens usually when dealing with connectivity issues if the message cannot be delivered.
