Table of Contents
This feature is used in conjunction with the Employee Communications product. If you have not purchased this product, then you will be unable to access this feature and its functionality.
The Employees page houses all Employee Profiles that a user manages or has the ability to view. From this page, users can create filtered employee lists for easy use and review.
Navigation
Navigate to the Employees page by selecting the All Apps button in the top left corner of the header and then the Employees app in its drop-down menu.
Employees page

The Employees page will open to the first employees list that you have access to and will include the following:
-
My Employees list – This will list all of the employees that the user is currently managing, per the last data import/update where this user’s name was listed as the employee’s manager in the
reports_tocolumn via Data Feeds. Clicking the employee’s name will open their Employee Profile.- Note: If a manager isn't assigned to any employees, then this list will not display.
- All Employees list – This will list all of your company’s employees and their details. You can click into any employee’s name to view their Employee Profile.
-
Deactivated Employees list – This list will include all employees who have reached or passed their termination date, which is set on their Employee Profile and can be manually entered or imported via Data Feeds. As soon as the employee is moved to this list, they will also be moved to the Deactivated Employees list in Roles and Permissions, prohibiting them from logging in and accessing the system
- Note: If the termination date is before the start date, then the system will register this employee as being rehired and will mark them as an active employee.
- Custom Segments – The segments listed here are the customized views of the Employees list that you and/or other employees have created. The number of employees that are included in a segment will be listed next to it.
- Last Imported timestamp – This states the last date and time in which employees were imported into the CEM from your system’s Data Feed.
-
Filter – This will filter the listing and allow you to create customized segments of the Employees list for you and/or all employees, depending on your permission.
-
Search Bar – This will search the following for the characters entered:
- Name
- Workplace Location
- Department
- Job Title
- Manager
- Employment Type
-
Table Settings – This allows you to rearrange and/or hide/show one or more columns in the corresponding list. All of the fields can be adjusted except for the Name column, which is the first and only frozen column. Up to 10 columns, including the Name column, can be included in this list. Available actions include:
- To hide a column, click its eye icon.
- To show a previously hidden column, click its crossed out eye icon.
-
To reorder columns, click a column’s multi-dot icon at the end of its row and drag and drop it in the preferred order.
- Export – This will allow you to export the list as a CSV or XLSX file.
Default landing page
When opening the Employees app, the default landing page will be set to the All Employees list or the My Employees list for any logged in user that has employees that report to them. You have the option to update the default landing page of the Employees app so that the page opens to the preferred list automatically. To do this,
- Hover over the preferred list item in the left navigation.
- Select the action menu, or ellipses.
- Select Set as Home.
Create employee segments
You can create employee segments in one of two ways: from the Employees list or from the filter modal.
Employees list
You can easily create employee segments by selecting and grouping together specific employees. To do this, complete the steps below.
- Select the preferred employees in the list.
- Select the + Save Segment button that displays above the list.
- In the modal that opens, enter a name for the segment.
- Select whether the segment will only display for yourself or if you want it to display for all users.
- Select Save to add the segment.
Filter modal
Similar to how you can create candidate segments from the filter modal in the Candidate Inbox, you can complete similar steps to create employee segments from the Employees page. To do this, complete the steps below.
- Open an Employees list.
- Select the filter icon button next to the search bar.
- When the filter modal opens, select a filter component from the left panel and then the preferred options that display for that component.
- Repeat step #3 to apply all preferred filters.
- Once all preferred filters are applied, click the + Save Segment button that appears at the bottom of the modal once at least one filter is applied.
- In the modal that opens, enter a name for the segment.
- Select whether the segment will only display for yourself or if you want it to display for all users.
- Select Save to add the segment.
Unread Activity list
The Unread Activity list will display when a manager has at least one unread message from an employee. When displayed, a manager can easily attend to their employees in a timely fashion.
Two managers with access to the same employee logic:
- If two managers have access to the same employee, then they both will be notified of the unread message.
- If one manager views the message first, then the message will still display as unread to the second manager.
- If one manager responds to the employee first, then the response will display within the second manager’s view instantaneously.

When opened, this list will display all unread messages sent from employees in response to a message sent directly to them (via your AI Assistant or as the manager themself) or when they respond to a communication.
- Organization – These messages will display the latest activity first, with the date or timestamp listed under the Latest Activity column. Columns can also be sorted by selecting the arrow next to the column’s title.
-
Unread/Read Designation – A blue dot next to an employee’s name will indicate that the message hasn’t been read yet by a logged in user. When a message is read, the employee’s information will disappear from this list.
- Note: A blue dot indicator will not display within the Deactivated Employees list view.
When the last employee’s message is viewed, then the list will show as blank and will be hidden once the user navigates away from the Employees page.
Unread designation from the All Employees list

A sortable column titled Latest Activity will display in the All Employees list view and will display the time (if sent today) or date when the last message was sent from the employee. If an employee has a blue dot next to their name as well, then this means that the message has not been read by the user viewing the list. The user can then either open up and view the unread message from the All Employees list or the Unread Activity list.
