The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission administers the implementation of federal laws that prohibit unfair treatment by employers based on race, sex, color, national origin, religion, disability, age (40 or over), genetic information and retaliation of complainants or witnesses to illegal activity.

To remain in compliance with the EEOC, you can include a quick survey modal to appear within a conversation with candidates to document their information in order to provide a fair hiring process.

    Configuration

To use this feature and remain in compliance with the EEOC, contact your CS Representative to enable this feature for you.

    Add EEO to a conversation

When this feature is enabled, you will have the option to add an Equal Employment Opportunity question to your conversation. To do this,

    1. Click the plus icon to add a new question.
    2. Select Equal Employment Opportunity as the question type.
    3. Click Apply to update the question type.
    4. Update the messaging presented to candidates, if preferred.
    5. (Optional) You have the option to update the information to collect from this modal. By clicking the box’s action menu, or ellipses, a drop-down menu will open and include the following:
      • Information to Collect – This will display the options selected in Client Setup, which will be included in the EEO modal. Available options include:
        • Race
        • Ethnicity
        • Disability (this will display if enabled in Client Setup)
        • Name (free text field)
        • Date (date picker)
        • Veteran
      • Skip Question – This will allow you to set up the criteria by which a candidate will potentially skip this question in the conversation. Click here to learn more.
      • System Attribute – This will allow you to tie a system attribute to this question in order to store the answer.
      • Edit Reprompt Message – This will display a secondary response to provide to the Candidate if they provide an invalid response.
      • Tracking Pixel – This will allow you to add a tracking pixel to this question. Click here to learn more about tracking pixels.
      • Disable Question – This will disable the question from being asked in the conversation.
      • Delete Question – This will remove the question from the conversation.

When you have the items selected under Information to Collect,” there's no need to use the System Attribute setting to map the candidate’s responses to the attributes. By checking these items, the candidate’s responses will be automatically mapped to the EEO attributes.

Any updates made to Conversation Builder should be saved and published to apply the changes and mark the conversation as active.

    Candidate experience

The candidate’s experience will be very similar regardless of whether they are responding via SMS or a web browser.

Note: If the candidate has the option to skip a statement, then a Skip button will display next to the Continue button.

    SMS experience

Before the closing message is sent to a candidate, your A.I. Assistant will share the Equal Employment Opportunity message and a link out to this page (while communicating via SMS).

The same communication will then open in a web browser on the candidate’s phone or in a modal next to the conversation when conversing on a web browser where they can review the message and then complete or skip the EEO details.

    • Note: If a Disability Statement is included in the conversation, the Submit button will display as Continue and will then display the Disability Statement.

    Web browser experience

    1. At the point in the conversation where the Equal Employment Opportunity Statement is added, then it will display in a modal next to the conversation. A candidate will review this statement and then click Continue.
    2. The next page in the modal will display the information to collect options. The candidate will make their selections and then click:
      • Submit if no Disability Statement is included.
      • Continue if a Disability Statement is included.
    3. A Disability Statement will display if Continue was clicked.
    4. The candidate will review this statement and then click Continue to move forward.
    5. The final page will then display where the candidate can select their disability status, enter their full name, and select the date. They can then click Submit to finalize their responses.
