Limitations Enable auto-scheduling in Conversation Builder Conversation template Custom conversation

While you can easily set auto-scheduling on the job level, setting auto-scheduling on the conversation level allows you to trigger the scheduling action based on specific candidate responses or screening criteria in the conversation, ensuring that there are different outcomes for different paths that a candidate can take rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach applied to the entire job.

Furthermore, conversations allow more flexibility in not only the questions that are asked of candidates but also how their responses tie into job qualification levels and the desired outcome from it. Follow the guide outlined below to assist in setting auto-scheduling on the conversation level.

    Limitations

The following features are not available in the Configure Auto Scheduling slide-out drawer within the Conversation Builder:

    • Sequential Interviews
    • Set Interview Owner
    • Number of Attendees setting for ATS Role

    Enable auto-scheduling in Conversation Builder

When building a conversation, you can configure the screening and actions to auto-schedule a candidate.

    Conversation template

    1. Select All Apps in the top left corner of the screen and then Settings from its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Conversation Builder under the Automation section.
    3. Select a prebuilt conversation or a template to add your screening questions.
    4. Scroll to the very bottom to build actions into the conversation so you can establish your desired screening criteria.
    5. At the bottom of the conversation, in the Screening and Actions section, select Schedule Interview as the Then option.
    6. Edit the text box that displays as needed.
    7. Select the Configure button.
    8. In the drawer that opens, edit the interview details.
    9. In the bottom right corner, select the Save button.
    10. Publish the template.

    Custom conversation

Custom conversations can also be built to auto-schedule candidates but work in a slightly different way.

    1. Select All Apps in the top left corner of the screen and then Settings from its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Conversation Builder under the Automation section.
    3. Open the preferred custom conversation.
    4. Towards the end of the conversation, select Schedule Interview as the question's action type.
    5. The copy in the templated message will update. Customize this message, if preferred.
    6. Select the Configure button.
    7. In the slide-out drawer that opens, add interview details that will auto-schedule a candidate in a custom conversation.
    8. In the bottom right corner, click the Save button.
    9. Publish the conversation.

If a candidate reaches that question in the conversation, they will be scheduled for an interview based on these configurations.
