When an approval request is submitted, the designated approvers will receive a notification automatically so that they can approve or deny requests in a timely manner. In return, once a request has been approved or denied, users will receive a notification of the action taken on the request.
Approver notification
No additional reminders will be sent out after the initial notification.
When a user submits an approval request, each approver in the first level/group of approvers will be notified via web notifications, if enabled, and via email.
- Approved Requests – If the first level/group of approvers approves the request, then the next level/group of approvers will be notified to review and complete the request at that time. This will continue until the final level/group of approvers complete the request.
- Denied Requests – If any level/group of approvers denies the request, then the higher levels/groups of approvers will not receive a notification.
Web alert

Approvers will receive a web alert, if enabled, when an approval needs their review.
Email alert

Approvers will also receive an email notification when a request was submitted for them to review.
Requester notification

The user who submitted an approval request will be notified of the final level/group of approvers’ response both via their web notifications, if enabled, and via email.
- Approved Requests – The user will be notified that the request was approved when the final level/group of approvers approves the request.
- Denied Requests – The user will be notified that the request was denied when any level/group of approvers denies the request.
