Managing your web, email, and SMS alerts
Table of Contents
Alert Management is a page where all users with a system login can set their alert preferences so that they are made aware of important events, such as the arrival of new Candidate, updated interviews, and more.
Navigation
Open the Alert Management page by first clicking the All Apps button in the top left corner of the header and then Settings under the Advanced section of its drop-down menu. When the Setting page opens, select Alert Management under Preferences.
Alert Management page
The Alert Management page includes the following alerts.
Web Alerts
Web alerts are the alerts sent out along with each setting on the Alert Management page, regardless of if it is enabled or not and dependent on permissions. These alerts are stored in the alerts icon in the top right corner of the top header in each user's account. By default, this toggle will be off to prevent repetitive alerts, but it can be enabled at any time.
However, if an Employee does not view their web alerts consistently, after 4 weeks, this alert will be automatically disabled. Learn more about Web Alerts here.
If Web Alerts is toggled on, then the following permissions will also be set for the corresponding alert types:
- Candidate Submission Alerts – All users who have permission to view a candidate will receive a web alert when a new candidate was added to the system.
- Scheduling Alerts – Only the candidate’s interview attendees will receive a web alert when a scheduled interview is created or changes.
-
Notes Alerts – A user will be notified via web alert when they are mentioned in the Notes section of the Candidate Profile.
- Note: This feature must be enabled on the backend by your CS Representative.

Smart Alerts
This will send you an alert when a candidate sends a message containing any of the keywords added to the Add a Keyword box.
Keywords can be removed at any time by clicking its action menu, or three dot icon, and then Delete Keyword from the drop-down menu that appears. Learn more about Watcher Alerts for Smart Alert keywords here.
Current logic
Smart Alerts should work for all types of conversations including Candidate Q&A and Job Search. If you have Smart Alert and Candidate Message Alerts enabled, and both alerts are triggered by the same message, then the Smart Alert email won’t send to prevent duplicate alerts.
Candidate Survey Alerts
If Surveys is enabled for your account, then the Candidate Survey Alerts option will display. This alert will notify you whenever a candidate provides a low rating so that you can review their response and address any low ratings immediately.
Candidate Request Alerts
Candidate Request Alerts should work for all types of conversations except Candidate Q&A/Care, which is disabled so as to prevent numerous insignificant email alerts from Unknown Candidates being sent.
Workflow Alerts
Workflow Alerts allow individual users to choose whether they want to receive Workflows Communications, such as when a task action is marked as Send Communication. When toggled on, they will receive the communication in the associated Workflow when it’s triggered.
Workflow Alerts are defaulted to send to impacted users, but they can be set on a per Employee basis via a toggle in Client Setup.
Note Alerts
Note Alerts will notify you when you are mentioned in a note added to a Candidate Profile. Click here to learn more about this alert.
Push Notification Hours
You can set the timeframe in which you receive push alert notifications. Regardless of these hours, you will still receive email notifications and web alerts, but by setting the timeframe for Push Notification Hours, you are able to determine when you are notified via SMS. Learn more here.
Watcher Alerts
This will notify you of only the alerts that relate to the candidates you have interacted with. Watcher Alerts can only be utilized alongside one of the following alert types: Candidate Message, Candidate Request, or Scheduling. Learn more about Watcher Alerts here.
Data Feed Alerts
These alerts will notify you when User and Location files are uploaded to your account. These actions include:
- New file upload

- Status file changed
- File not present at run time
- High candidate volume alert
- Unresolved duration alert
Manage other users' alerts
All users who can login to the CEM will be able to adjust their own alerts. If a user needs their alerts adjusted for them, then they can make the request with your CS Representative.
