The Interview Debriefs feature introduces the ability to schedule dedicated debrief meetings immediately following panel or sequential interviews. This feature allows for structured post-interview discussions, improves governance, and enhances both user and candidate experiences by separating debriefs from candidate-facing interview time.

At least two interviewers must be assigned to an interview in order for a debrief session to be available for selection in the Scheduling drawer.

    Use cases

    • Panel Interview Debriefs: Interviewers in a panel interview that want to have a session where they can debrief after an interview with only the interview attendees.
    • Governance and Compliance: Organizations who want to require debriefs before candidates move forward in the hiring process, ensuring hiring standards are met.
    • Calendar Management: Busy organizations who want to prevent double-booking by blocking debrief time on interviewer calendars.

    Configuration

This interview type must be enabled on the backend by a Company/Account Admin with full access to Client Setup or your CS Representative. Please contact them for assistance.

Add a debrief meeting to panel or sequential interviews

When scheduling panel or sequential interviews (manual, auto-schedule, or via templates), users can add a debrief meeting at the interview level when at least two interviews are added with one having at least two attendees.

An Interview Debriefs section will then display and can be updated to include a time where all interview attendees outside of the candidate will be scheduled immediately after the interview or the last session in a sequential interview (multi-day sequential interviews are excluded).

Note: Separate meeting links for debriefs prevent candidates from accessing internal discussions.

    User experience

    • Scheduling Flow: Once at least two interviews are added when setting/scheduling an interview and one of those interviews has two or more attendees, users will see an option to add an interview debrief. The process is integrated into manual, auto-schedule, and template scheduling.
    • Calendar Invites: All interview attendees receive a separate calendar invite for the debrief.
    • Comms & Reminders: New communication templates are available for debrief meetings. Reminders and action-needed messages are triggered if required attendees decline or propose new times.
    • Visibility: The Interviews page displays debrief types and attendee responses (accepted/declined/pending).
    • Editing: Debrief details can only be changed during rescheduling, not when editing an already scheduled interview.

    Additional logic

    • API Support: Debrief details can be managed via the Interview Alerts API, with validation and error handling consistent with interview scheduling.
    • Reporting: Debrief sessions are considered busy times on calendars and are visible in reporting and analytics.

    Debriefs in sequential interviews

    • Timing: The debrief occurs immediately after the final interview in a sequence. This is not customizable.
    • Availability: If Paradox cannot find a time block that accommodates both the interview and the debrief for all required attendees, the debrief will not be scheduled.
    • Participants: The attendees invited to the debrief are the same as the attendees invited to the sequential interview.
    • Only Same-Day Sequential: This feature is currently limited to same-day sequential interviews and is not available for multi-day sequential interview scheduling.
