Job status timelines automate the end-to-end lifecycle of a job posting. By pre-scheduling posting and closing dates for jobs, your team can manage transitions between Internal and External talent pools without manual intervention.

    Use cases

    • Regulatory Compliance: Automatically unpost jobs on a specific date to align with state-level legal requirements. This ensures consistent compliance across all regions without requiring manual intervention from recruiters.
    • Strategic Internal Mobility: Enforce internal hiring policies by scheduling a job as Internal Only for a set duration. The system will then automatically transition the posting to External candidates, ensuring your current workforce has priority access to new opportunities.
    • High-Volume Recruitment: Streamline high-volume hiring cycles by scheduling jobs to close automatically after a predetermined period, preventing stale postings and managing applicant flow.

    Configure timeline settings

Timeline settings are the foundation for how this feature can be utilized throughout the platform. Click here to learn more.

    Timelines section

The Timelines section can be opened from the Job Manager. From this section, you can view the following information:

    • Title – The name of the timeline.
    • Enabled/Disabled – Whether the timeline is enabled or disabled.
    • Used in – How many jobs the timeline is being used for.
    • Status – The status of the timeline (Published, Unpublished Changes, Draft).
    • Last Updated By – The user who last updated the timeline.
    • Last Updated – The date the timeline was last updated.

    List actions

Within the Timelines section, you will be able to search for an existing timeline or create a new one. Additionally, you can take the following actions by hovering over a timeline's row and selecting its action menu, or ellipses:

    • Edit – Opens the Timeline Builder, which allows you to edit the timeline.
    • Delete – Deletes the timeline. You must confirm this action in the Delete Timeline warning modal.

A timeline cannot be deleted if it is currently assigned to a posted job or if it is the only timeline available for a job where a timeline is required.

If you attempt to delete a timeline with active dependencies, a Cannot Delete Timeline warning modal will appear, listing every specific job preventing the deletion.

    Permissions

There are two permissions tied to this feature. By default, only Paradox Admins, Company/Account Admins, and Franchise Owners will have full access to these permissions. These permissions include the following:

    • Timelines – This child permission lives under the Job Management parent permission. Users with full access can create and manage timelines while users with view access can only open and view timelines for your account.
    • Job Settings – This child permission lives under the Job Management parent permission. Users with full access can manage job settings set in Job Manager while users with view access can only open and view job setting selections.
