Updating a candidate’s job on their Candidate Profile will only change the job name and will not change the backend data and candidate journey requirements that may be different from one job to another. In addition to this, you cannot specify which status the candidate moves into, send communications to the candidate, or correctly manage forms and offers when the candidate’s job is updated, causing significant compliance risks and a confusing candidate experience.
The Manual Candidate Mobility feature solves for these troubling areas by improving the experience and the data infrastructure needed to move or invite a candidate to a new job.
Reasons to update a candidate’s job
Moving and inviting candidates to new jobs is essential for recruiting operations because:
- Candidates may not apply for the perfect job when first applying.
- Too many quality candidates may apply for one job, so a recruiter may want to move the excess candidates to a new job.
- Previously rejected candidates may be re-initiated in the recruiting process by moving or inviting a candidate to a new job.
- Candidates who applied to a job tied to a campaign may want to be moved to a formal application.
- Candidates may apply to a generic or general job and then move to a specific role after an introduction interview.
Reasons to use the Candidate Mobility feature
When a candidate is moved to a new job using the Candidate Mobility feature, we update the Job Data Packages, the hiring requirements, forms, offers, and journey steps to the new job so everything will be changed automatically as if the candidate applied to the new job from scratch.
This feature allows a user to select the status that the candidate should be moved to when using this feature, such as a second-round interview or an offer. We further allow reconfigurability options around permissions and Candidate Journey data to prevent non-compliant candidate movements.
This feature:
- Has an interface for editing and sending messages to candidates to make sure they are informed that they are being moved to a new job.
- Increases the accuracy of the locations and jobs a candidate can move to depending on what is available.
- Allows configurations to select the specific attributes, documents, forms, and assessment data that should carry over to the new application.
- Allows a candidate to opt out of applying to the new job and continue with their original application, which improves the candidate’s experience.
