Allow for multiple responses in form tasks
Table of Contents
Custom form tasks include the option for candidates to enter more than one response as needed. This can be extremely beneficial when asking about previous convictions and/or multiple previous addresses, among other common questions.
It is important to note that a section and a task cannot both have multiple responses set.
Use cases
- Collect multiple inputs for the same question or question set.
Add multiple response tasks
Multiple responses can be added to the task-level for Personal Information, Custom, and Diversity Question sections for the following tasks:
- Address
- Date Selection
- Document Upload
- Custom Question
It is important to note that a section and a task cannot both have multiple responses set.
Users with full access to Forms can easily add multiple responses to one of the above tasks by selecting the number of responses for each task and then updating field mapping. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Select the All Apps menu in the top left corner of the page and then Settings from its drop-down menu.
- When the Settings page opens, select Forms under the Jobs section.
- The Candidate Forms list will then open. Open the preferred form.
- Each task that allows for multiple responses will include a Maximum Responses Allowed field where the value of total responses can be entered. If preferred, update this field.
- Note: If this is greater than 1, field mapping does not need to be completed.
- If you choose to add field mapping, it is available for all multiple response questions except the Address Task. To do this,
- Select the plug icon next to the Maximum Responses Allowed field.
- When the Field Mapping modal or slide-out drawer opens, a listing of responses that correspond to the set number of maximum responses will display. Click into each response and enter its values.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
- Note: The Remove button will remove all listed values in the modal/drawer and Cancel will close the modal/drawer without saving the changes made.
- Save the task.
- Publish the form.
Candidate experience
When the candidate completes their form, they will see an + Add Another Response option below the corresponding question to add in the necessary number of responses.
When a form is created with a task that includes a multiple response answer AND only one response is mapped, the + Add Another Response button will be disabled for a better user experience.
