    Create a Widget Conversation Add Widget Conversation to your career site

    A conversation widget allows potential candidates to engage with your AI Assistant and apply to open jobs effortlessly. Once a widget is configured, its widget token can be copied from Paradox and added to your external Career Site.


    Create a Widget Conversation

    Widgets can be created from the Web Management page. Follow the steps below to set up a widget.

    1. Clicking the All Apps button in the top left corner of the header.
    2. Click the Settings app from its drop-down menu. 
    3. When the Settings page opens, click Web Management under the Platform section.
    4. Click the + Create New Widget button in the top right corner of the Widget Conversations list.
    5. In the slide-out drawer that opens, enter a name for the widget.
    6. If Multi-Branding is enabled for your account, select the brand used for this conversation.
    7. If Candidate Types (Internal/External) and Job Posting Type is enabled for your account (learn more here), select the audience type between the following options:
      • External: Returns external jobs to candidates.
      • Internal: Returns internal jobs to candidates.
    8. Desktop Conversation Widget. Configure the below settings:
      • Display the conversation widget on your desktop site. – If toggled on, this allows the conversation widget to display on the desktop site. This is enabled by default.
      • Display an interstitial conversation when job seekers land on your desktop site. – If toggled on, this displays the widget in the middle of the desktop site like a pop-up.
      • Display the widget as minimized on your desktop site. – If toggled on, the widget will be minimized by default. 
    9. Mobile Conversation Widget. Configure the below settings:
      • Display the conversation widget on your mobile site. – If toggled on, this allows the conversation widget to display on the mobile site. This is enabled by default.
      • Display an interstitial conversation when job seekers land on your mobile site. – If toggled on, this displays the widget in the middle of the mobile site like a pop-up.
      • Display the widget as minimized on your mobile site – When this toggle is on, the widget will be minimized by default.
    10. Voice Functionality. If Voice is enabled for your account, you have the option to toggle on the Add the ability for the candidate to communicate with Olivia through voice. setting to allow the candidate to speak a message to your AI Assistant using the microphone button in the message bar.
    11. Customization. This section allows you to customize the theme and color of the widget elements based on your branding. For hex code assistance, use this tool.
      • Note: If dynamic content is enabled for your account, you can customize the Design theme as well. The default Design theme is the Stories Theme.  
    12. Chat Prompt. Configure the below settings:
      • Display a chat prompt on your widget on desktop – This toggle allows a chat prompt to display on the desktop web’s widget.
      • Display a chat prompt on your widget on mobile – This toggle allows a chat prompt to display on the mobile web’s widget.
      • Chat prompt text – This allows you to customize the chat prompt’s text.



         
    13. Domain Security. Add the domains where this widget will only display.



       
    14. Page Language Targeting. Toggle the Use language tag in page HTML to target widget start language setting if you want to target the starting language for the widget.



       
    15. Geographic Targeting. Toggle the Restrict where this widget displays by Country, US or US City. setting if you want to restrict where the widget displays for candidates. If enabled, enter in the US City, US State, or Country that should see this widget only.


       
    16. Conversation Targeting. Targeting rules allows you to set the conversation that will display when those rules are matched. If no rules are matched, then the system will use the Catch-all Conversation (#13). Conversation targeting is best used when you want to target a specific type of candidate for a specific job. To set targeting rules, complete the steps below for each necessary targeting rule:
      1. Enter a name for the targeting rule based on the group of candidates you want to target.
      2. Click the + Add button.



         
      3. Configure the targeting rule settings:
        • How would you like to start the interaction? – Select the starting conversation. Options include:
          • Capture Conversation – This is selected by default and begins the Apply process, where your AI Assistant gathers general and contact information about the candidate. If enabled, choose the preferred Capture conversation in the Which conversation will you use? selector.
          • Job Search – This is only available if Job Search is enabled for the account and the Job Search toggle is enabled below. This allows candidates to perform a job search on the landing site.
            • Allow candidate to search for job location – Toggling this on will allow candidates to search for a job location tied to their preferred job.
            • + Add Attribute – Adding an attribute will limit the job search results to the attribute value entered here. This can direct candidates to specific results for this widget.


               
        • Knowledge Base – This toggle is tied to Q&A questions and answers in the Content Management System (CMS). These responses are targeted to help your AI Assistant answer company, culture, benefit, and additional category questions asked by candidates (Candidate Q&A), employees (Employee Q&A), or both (General COVID-19 Q&A, Trucking Q&A, or Onboarding Q&A), depending on what is both enabled for your account AND what is selected here. If valuable to include, toggle this on and then select the type of Q&A questions and responses that will be supported in this conversation. Options include:
          • Candidate Q&A
          • Employee Q&A
          • Additional Q&A options if enabled for your account
        • Surveys – If the Survey feature is enabled for your account, then you have the option to toggle this on to select a survey to send to candidates in this conversation.
        • Job Search – If a Capture Conversation is selected, Job Search can still take place by toggling on this setting. You can then define Job Search parameters by updating the available settings:
          • Customize Apply Now Button - You can customize the Apply Now button according to your preferences. If Multilingual is turned on, this text can be configured in a different language. The character limit is 24 characters.
          • Allow candidate to search job location – Toggling this on will allow candidates to search for a job location tied to their preferred job.
          • + Add Attribute – Adding an attribute will limit the job search results to the attribute value entered here. This can direct candidates to specific results for this widget.
        • + Add Condition – Conditions can be set based on Page URL, Referring URL, or job_id so that the AI Assistant starts with the selected conversation based on the candidate’s origin. 
        • Save – Click this to save the targeting rules made.
    17. Catch-All Conversation. This conversation will be initiated if page visitors do not match any conversation targeting rules (#12). This is enabled by default but can be disabled if needed. Additional settings for this conversation include:
      • Knowledge Base – This toggle is tied to Q&A questions and answers in the Content Management System (CMS). These responses are targeted to help your AI Assistant answer company, culture, benefit, and additional category questions asked by candidates (Candidate Q&A), employees (Employee Q&A), or both (General COVID-19 Q&A, Trucking Q&A, or Onboarding Q&A), depending on what is both enabled for your account AND what is selected here. If valuable to include, toggle this on and then select the type of Q&A questions and responses that will be supported in this conversation. Options include:
        • Candidate Q&A
        • Employee Q&A
        • Additional Q&A options if enabled for your account
      • Job Search – If toggled on, define potential Job Search parameters by attribute to better pinpoint Job Search results for candidates. You can then define Job Search parameters by updating the available settings:
        • Allow candidate to search for job location – Toggling this on will allow candidates to search for a job location tied to their preferred job.
        • + Add Attribute – Adding an attribute will limit the job search results to the attribute value entered here. This can direct candidates to specific results for this widget.
      • How would you like to start the interaction? – Select the starting conversation. Options include:
        • Capture Conversation – This is selected by default and begins the Apply process, where your AI Assistant gathers general and contact information about the candidate. If enabled, choose the preferred Capture conversation in the Which conversation will you use? selector.

      • Surveys – If the Survey feature is enabled for your account, then you have the option to toggle this on to select a survey to send to candidates in this conversation.
      • AI Resume Matching – If toggled on, when the candidate begins their Job Search conversation, your AI Assistant will ask for their resume and then will return the most relevant jobs that match their prior experience.
        • Note: When enabled, the Job Search setting will also be enabled.
    18. Labels. This section allows you to extract data from the web page’s HTML and assign it to a label, which can be used in conversation targeting. If this is relevant to you, you can add label tags. 
    19. Then click Save and Finish.

    Add Widget Conversation to your career site

    You can use the Javascript snippet from the Widget Conversation you created to add to your external career site. To do this,

    1. Open your Widget Conversation from the list.
    2. Scroll to the javascript snippet at the bottom of the drawer. 
    3. Copy this snippet.


       
    4. Navigate to your Career Site.
    5. Place this javascript snippet on your web page within the </body> tag.
