EU region recognition Configuration Additional logic to note EU countries on the SMS country whitelist

EU region recognition lets you use an EU Ideal Sender phone number so Olivia can send and receive SMS with candidates across supported European countries without provisioning a separate in-country number for every market.

This enhancement does not impact customers who do not have an EU presence.

    EU region recognition

    Important Notes:

    • The EU Ideal Sender is not recommended for customers sending messages to candidates in the following regions due to carrier limitations:
      • Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.
    • Our system prioritizes sending SMS messages from existing in-country phone numbers for candidates with the same country code.
    • The EU Ideal Sender is a valuable solution for clients who do not have an in-country phone number, using a number from a country with available inventory (Sweden or Netherlands) to send and receive messages from candidates in countries with no available inventory.

As of September 2025, all customers will have the option to determine whether they want to use a set country code to prevent regional blocking from occurring and providing them access to candidates across the EU via SMS. This is extremely beneficial, as you no longer have to use a specific country code per country to contact candidates in that country.

    Configuration

Users with full access to the Client Setup permission can complete the below steps.

    1. Select App Apps in the top left corner of the header and then Settings in its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Client Setup under the Paradox Tools section.
    3. From the left panel of Client Setup, scroll down to and open the More section.
    4. For the EU SMS Phone Number setting, choose the phone number that is the “ideal sender” for your account. Options include:
      • Sweden (+46) (Recommended)
      • Netherlands (+31)
      • None (Not recommended)
        • Note: This option is not recommended for EU clients.
    5. Select Save in the lower-right corner of this section.

In making either the Sweden (+46) (Recommended) or Netherlands (+31) selection, whenever an AI Phone Number is created with the country code selected in Client Setup, then all EU countries on the SMS Country Whitelist setting will be automatically enabled and available for communicating via SMS from that AI Phone Number.

    Additional logic to note

    • AI Phone Numbers can still be created outside of the selection made; however, that phone number will be limited to its corresponding country, which can make the process of setting up communications and engagements with EU candidates more tedious.
    • If the None (Not recommended) option is selected, then all EU countries will be removed from the SMS Country Whitelist setting, which will limit your client’s reach to candidates in the EU.

EU countries on the SMS country whitelist

The following countries support successful two-way SMS when using an EU Ideal Sender:

    • Denmark
    • Estonia
    • Germany
    • Lithuania
    • Netherlands
    • Portugal
    • Spain
    • Sweden
