You can use video for scheduling in order to either view or hear (audio-only) the candidate’s responses to your most relevant questions.

    Start video meeting

An employee can open the video meeting from the candidate’s profile when starting a scheduled interview. For on-the-fly interviews, an employee can invite the candidate to join from their Candidate Profile. To do this, follow the steps below.

    1. Ensure you are viewing the Candidate Inbox.
    2. Navigate to the preferred candidate’s profile.
    3. Click the …More button and then select Start Video from its drop-down menu.
    4. A modal will open with the message that will be sent to the candidate to initiate the video interview. This can be edited as needed.
    5. Select Send and join to initiate the virtual meeting.
    6. A new browser tab will open for the meeting. You can configure your audio and video settings, if preferred. Click Join to join the call.
    7. During the meeting, you have the ability to add notes about the candidate, mute your microphone, turn off your video, see all participants, and reconfigure your audio/video sources.
    8. When the meeting is over, you can end the video and close the window by clicking the End button in the settings bar.
      • Note: You will not be redirected back to the CEM automatically.

    Candidate meeting invitations

When candidates are scheduled for an interview, they will receive a link within their invitation. They will then click this to join the interview at the scheduled time.

For on-the-fly virtual interviews, candidates will receive an invitation through SMS or email, depending on their preferred communication method, that includes a link to the meeting. When clicked, the virtual interview will open.

    Candidate Profile: Meeting banner

When multiple employees are within the same meeting, then the Video Meeting in Progress banner will display the full name of the first user who joined the meeting and then a count of all users who have joined.

Employees can click the Join button within this banner to join the call at any time.

    Paradox Video functionality

Paradox Video support screen sharing and blurred backgrounds for all virtual interviews.

    Share your screen

To share your screen in Paradox Video:

    1. From the video toolbar, click Share.
    2. Select which screen to share in the dialog box that opens.

    To configure screen sharing permissions:

    1. From the video toolbar below your video, select the arrow next to the Share icon.
    2. Select All Participants or Interviewer(s) Only to configure who can share their screen during the interview.
      • Note: This does not apply to mobile. You can view a shared screen in a mobile web browser, but you cannot share your own screen.

    Blur your background

To blur your background in Paradox Video:

    1. From the video toolbar, select the arrow next to Video.
    2. In the drop-down menu, select Blur Background to blur your background.

    Two or less participants

If two or less participants are in a video room together, then the screen will show the participants alongside each other on the main screen and the Candidate Profile view with notes will be shown.

    Two or more participants

If there are three or more participants in the video room, then the center screen will display the dominant speaker in the room and the other participants will display in the right participant panel. The dominant speaker will switch based on the Dominant Speaker Detection API (from Twilio).

    View Candidate Profile

The name of the candidate also serves as a link to their Candidate Profile, which can be opened during the call.

    Scroll to view all participants

A scroll functionality will display on the right side of the participant list when 6 or more participants are in the video room. Selecting the up/down arrow will allow you to scroll through and view all individuals on the call.

    • Note: This functionality will not be included for five or less participants.

    View participants in a list

Click the participants icon in the bottom menu bar in order to view a list of all participants on the call.

A list of all participants (both employees and candidates) will be listed in a slide-out drawer for easy review.

    Interview milestones

When a candidate is scheduled for a virtual video, and Paradox Video is enabled on your account, the following milestones will appear within the candidate’s conversation.

Milestone Example Logic of when this milestone should appear:
#user-fullname joined the Paradox Video Meeting Calli Noble joined the Paradox Video Meeting When a user enters the Paradox Video
#user-fullname left the Paradox Video Meeting Calli Noble left the Paradox Video Meeting When a user leaves the Paradox Video but does not click END MEETING
#user-fullname ended the Paradox Video Meeting Jerome Thompson ended the Paradox Video Meeting When a user ends the Paradox Video by clicking the END MEETING button
#candidate-name joined the Paradox Video Meeting Mia Lee joined the Paradox Video Meeting When a candidate enters the Paradox Video
#candidate-name left the Paradox Video Meeting Mia Lee left the Paradox Video Meeting When a candidate leaves the Paradox Video but the Paradox is not ended by the user

    Meeting room type change

If the meeting room type changes from three participants to group or vice versa, then the room type will change through the Join button.

FINAL ATTENDEES: The attendees are finalized 15 minutes before the meeting and cannot be updated after that period of time. Only one link shall be tied to the Join button when 15 minutes before the meeting start time is reached.

    Global support

This video room supports Global Low Latency (GLL), which allows Twilio to manage region selection and geolocation for video rooms and handle use cases where we have employees and candidates from across the globe use our video rooms.
