Mass update job data package (JDP) values
Table of Contents
This self-service tool allows you to simultaneously update data within Job Data Packages (JDPs) for a large number of jobs using a single file upload in Data Feeds. This standardizes and streamlines how your organization manages critical, large-scale job data updates, such as changes to compensation or regulatory compliance requirements.
Use cases
This tool is designed to address complex, high-volume job data management scenarios, allowing you to:
- Compensation and Compliance: Quickly and accurately apply new pay rates, minimum wage rules, or updated regulatory requirements across thousands of Job Data Packages in a single, efficient upload.
- Bulk Data Correction: Efficiently correct and standardize data errors affecting JDP values across a large volume of jobs without manual, individual edits.
Configuration
The ability to update job data packages in bulk is controlled by the Job Data Packages child permission, which is located under the Data Feeds parent permission. Work with a user who has full access to Roles and Permissions or CS Representatives to adjust this permission for your teams.
Upload a job data package value
- Select the All Apps button in the top left corner of the header and then Settings in its drop-down menu.
- When the Settings page opens, select Data Feeds under the Automation section.
- From the left panel, select Job Data Packages.
- Select Upload Job File.
- In the drawer that opens, upload the desired file by dragging it into the upload box or selecting the box to browse the files on your computer.
-
Notes:
- Ensure that the first row of your uploaded file has column headers.
- The file requirements have a size limit of up to 5MB with allowed file types being csv, .csv.gpg, .csv.pgp, and .xlsx.
-
Notes:
- Once the file uploads successfully, select Next.
- Review each column from your file (CVS Column and Example Value) and map them to a corresponding field in the Import As dropdown. You must map at least one field from each of the following categories:
- Job Attributes (Standard or Custom Job Attributes)
- Job Data (Job Code, Job ID, Job Req ID, Internal Job Title, Public Job Title)
- Location Data (Location ID, Location Name)
- After confirming headers, in the lower-right corner, select Validate.
If you choose to leave the drawer when validation is in progress by selecting Cancel, the file will save but not upload. You’ll need to select Confirm to save the file for later upload.
- When validated successfully, review the summary details of the file upload and file information.
- In the bottom right corner, select Upload.
- In the confirmation modal, select Confirm to make the updates to job data across jobs and locations.
The file status then changes to Processing and the import begins.
Validation errors

If errors are found during validation, a warning message displays Total Rows Success and Total Rows Error. To troubleshoot, select View File Error to download a file containing an Errors column that explains the failure reason for each row. You must correct the errors in the original file and restart the process from Step #1 (file upload).
Viewing the file summary
You can access detailed information about any uploaded file by hovering over a row; selecting its action menu, or ellipses; and then selecting View Detail.
The File Summary will open and provides the file's high-level metadata and upload statistics, including the file name, upload date, status, creator, and upload totals. You can select Download to download the original file from this summary view.
Editing action needed files
If a file has an Action Needed status due to validation failure or import interruption, hovering over a row; selecting its action menu, or ellipses; and then selecting Edit. This returns you to the Confirm Headers section with previous mapping saved.
You are required to re-run validation before importing again. This ensures the data is still valid, as underlying job data may have changed in the system since the file was originally uploaded.
Permissions
By default, only Paradox Admins, Company/Account Admins, and Franchise Owners will have full access to the Job Data Packages permission (under the Data Feeds parent permission). View the below access levels and work with a user who has full access to Roles and Permissions to update role permissions, as needed:
- Full Access – Allows users to upload, validate, import, edit, and delete JDP files.
- View Access – Allows users to only view the file list, summaries, and details.
- No Access – The user cannot see the Job Data Packages section in Data Feeds.
