Table of Contents
You can create dynamic Candidate Summary cards that display based on the candidate’s Job or Location Attributes. This can be helpful when your hiring teams are needing access to information that differs from the default Candidate Summary.
Create a dynamic Candidate Summary
- Select the All Apps button in the top left corner of the header and then Settings in its drop-down list.
- When the Settings page opens, select Candidate Summary Builder under the Platform section.
- By default, the All list will display. Select + Create New in the top right corner of this list.
Details & Targeting section
- When the builder opens, enter in a name for this dynamic Candidate Summary card.
- Set the targeting rules for this card. All Job and Location Attributes will be included in the Targeting Rules selector to narrow down the candidates who will have this Candidate Summary applied to their Candidate Profile. Once selected, select the Matches and enter the Input values.
- Note: As targeting rules are added, the # Jobs button in the top right corner of this subsection will update with the number of jobs targeted. Select this in order to view the targeted jobs and determine if more or different criteria will assist in targeting your preferred candidate pool.
- Add complex targeting by clicking the + AND and/or + OR buttons. You also have the option to add additional rules by clicking the + Add Rule Set button and building additional Targeting Rules.
- Select Next in the top right corner of this section.
Candidate Summary section
The Candidate Summary section is where you can customize the fields you want displayed within the Candidate Profile card and the About section of the Applications tab.
- Review the fields listed and determine whether you’d want to complete one of the following actions:
-
Add fields – Select the + Add Field button below the default field selections. A minimum of four fields and a maximum of six fields can be added to the Candidate Profile card.
-
Notes:
- The same field is not allowed to be added more than once to the profile card; therefore, all fields already used are disabled in this dropdown. However, these attributes can still be reused in the Candidate Summary section of this builder.
- If you already have six fields selected, then you will need to follow the Replace/Change Fields process instead.
- Candidate Profile Data Attributes. If adding a field that has Candidate Profile data available, you will have to choose its data source. Click here to learn more.
-
Notes:
- Reorder fields – Fields can be reordered by first clicking the Reorder button to the right of the Edit Fields title. A modal will open showing the current organization of the fields. You can click on the rearrange (multi-dot) icon to the right of any field and drag it into a different placement in either column. Once you select Save, the fields will be reordered on the page accordingly.
-
Replace/change fields – If you want to change out one of the fields, you can click on the arrow to the right of the field name and select a new field from the drop-down that opens.
- Note: The same field is not allowed to be added more than once to the profile card; therefore, all fields already used are disabled in this dropdown. However, these attributes can still be reused in the Candidate Summary section of this builder.
- Delete fields – This functionality will only appear when there are five or six fields currently added to the Candidate Summary. Fields can be deleted by selecting the trashcan icon to the right of the field.
-
Add fields – Select the + Add Field button below the default field selections. A minimum of four fields and a maximum of six fields can be added to the Candidate Profile card.
The Candidate Summary preview will update in real time as fields are added, removed, and reordered. This helps you determine the layout of the selector as you make changes.
- When the Candidate Summary card is constructed the way you want, select Next in the top right corner of this section.
Additional Sections section
- The final section is where you can build out the fields for the rest of the Candidate Summary. Start by selecting Add section and then the preferred option from its drop-down menu. Options include:
-
Personal Information – Select this for a template used to gather the candidate’s personal information on the summary. This section includes the following fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Street Address (Line 1)*
- Street Address (Line 2)*
- City*
- State*
- ZIP Code*
* These fields will only show for Conversational ATS accounts that have Forms enabled.
- Screening Questions – Select this to display the candidate’s screening questions and answers on the summary dynamically. If this section is added, there will be no further action.
- Shift Selection – This displays if you have both Conversational ATS and shifts enabled. Select this to have the candidate’s shift selection display in the Candidate Profile.
- Work Experience – This will only show if you have both Conversational ATS and Forms enabled. Select this to pull the candidate’s questions and answers from the Work Experience section of a form. If this section is added, there will be no further action.
-
Custom Section – Select this to build a fully customizable section of your choice. Add fields by selecting + Add Field at the bottom of the section. A drawer will populate with two required fields that must be updated and saved to add the custom section:
- Field Name – This is an open text field where you can enter the name of the field. For example, Candidate’s Degree.
-
Field Data – This will be a dropdown that displays all Candidate Attributes. You can choose which data you want pulled from the candidate for this field. For example, the Education 1 Degree attribute.
- Note: Candidate Profile Data Attributes. If adding a field that has Candidate Profile Data available, you will have to choose its data source. Click here to learn more.
-
Personal Information – Select this for a template used to gather the candidate’s personal information on the summary. This section includes the following fields:
The Personal Information, Screening Questions, Shift Selection, and Work Experience sections can only be added once to the summary. If one of those sections has already been added to the summary, then that section will be disabled when using the Add Section functionality. The Custom Section can be added any number of times.
- Review the added sections and determine if any of the below actions should occur:
- Edit or delete section fields – You can edit a field by clicking the custom field’s box. You also have the option to edit or delete a field from the box’s action menu, or ellipses.
- Reorder section fields – Select the Reorder Fields button that appears when two or more fields are added. A modal will open showing the current order of the fields. You can click the rearrange (multi-dot) icon to the right of any field and drag it into a different placement. Select the Save button to apply the changes.
- Edit section names – Select the section title to edit its name.
- Reorder sections – Select the Reorder Sections button in the bottom of the section's left panel. A modal will open showing the current order of the sections. You can click on the rearrange (multi-dot) icon to the right of any section and drag it into a different placement. Select Save to apply the changes.
- Delete Sections – Sections can be deleted by selecting the trash can button in the top right corner of a section.
- (Optional) Select the Preview button to get a glimpse of what the Candidate Summary will look like in the Candidate Profile. The only actionable part of this preview is that you can click on the summary section cards in order to expand/collapse the section data. Since there is no actual Candidate data, the data for the Candidate Profile Card will display as if no data was assigned.
- Note: In practice, if no data is assigned to a real Candidate, blank/empty fields will show as No Data Assigned in the actual Candidate Summary.
- Select Save in the top right corner of the page.
- Note: If you want to leave this dynamic Candidate Summary in a Draft or Unpublished status, click the Back button in the top left corner of the page, just below the header.
- Select Publish in the bottom left corner of the page to finalize the summary and mark it as active.
The dynamic Candidate Summary card will then be added to its corresponding Candidate Summary list.
Edit a dynamic Candidate Summary
You can open the dynamic Candidate Summary Builder to edit a summary card in one of two ways:
- Click the dynamic Candidate Summary card from any list.
- Hover over the preferred dynamic Candidate Summary card in any list, select the ellipses that appears, and then select Edit in its drop-down menu.
When the builder opens, you can make the necessary changes and then select Save or Save and Publish.
