Default and custom event planning fields (campus only)

Default creation fields are the default fields that will display in the Event Planning section of an Event Builder while custom event planning fields can be created and then selected for use within the Event Planning section of the Event Template Builder. Both field types are housed within Event Settings.
Navigation
You can navigate to the Custom Event Planning Fields section of Event Settings in one of two ways:
- Clicking the Event Settings button at the bottom of the Events page’s left panel.
- Clicking Custom Event Planning Fields from the Events and Campus section of the Settings page.
Default creation fields

The default creation fields are the fields that will automatically display within the Event Planning section of the Event Builder. Adjusting the fields in this list will then reflect what will be present when building events. From here, you can remove system-generated fields and add custom default fields to ensure that each campus event includes the most relevant information for your company.
The default creation fields include the following:
- Anticipated Date
- Engagement Goal
- Scheduled Interview Goal
- Budget and Expenses
List actions

From the Default Creation Fields list, you can complete the following actions:

Reorder Fields – This will allow you to reorder the way in which the default creation fields are displayed in this list and when creating a new campus event. Simply click this to open a Reorder Fields modal where you can click a field’s multi-dot icon and then drag and drop the field in the correct order. Click Save to apply the changes made.
- Search bar – This will allow you to search the list for the characters entered.
- + Add New Field – When clicked, this will allow you to add a new default field based on fields that have been deleted previously. You will always have the option to create a custom field that can automatically display within the Event Planning section of the Event Builder (default selection) or that will be listed as an optional field within the Event Planning section of the Event Template Builder. The process of adding a new default or custom field is outlined below.
- Default – This indicates that the field is a default field, meaning that it will automatically display within the Event Builder when building new events.

Action menu – This menu includes the following action options:
- Edit – This will open the planning field’s details in a drawer where you can make any necessary changes.
- Delete – This will delete the field from the list. You can always add this field back via the + Add new Field button (#3).
- Remove from Default – This will remove the field from auto-populating the Event Planning section of the Event Builder.
- Question Required – When enabled, this will mark the question as required to complete within the Event Builder.
Add a default field

From the + Add New Field button in the top right corner of the list, you have the option to add back preconfigured default creation fields, if previously deleted/removed, or add a new custom field.
- Note: Preconfigured default creation fields can only be added once. If it is currently included in the Default Creation Fields list, then you cannot add the field again.
Clicking Custom Field will open a slide-out drawer where you can enter in the necessary details. This process is outlined in the following section.
Add a default or optional custom field
Custom fields can be created from the default creation fields list or the All Custom Event Planning Fields list. Regardless of where it is created, you have the option to set a custom field as a default field for the Event Planning section in the Event Builder or as an optional field to include in the Event Template Builder.

Complete the following fields.
- Field Name – The name of the field.
- Help Text – A description of this field that will live in a tooltip next to the Field Name for reference.
- Add custom planning field to default event creation – By default, this box will be checked to indicate that the field should be one of the default fields listed within the Event Planning section of the Event Builder. Deselect this to remove it as a default field within the Event Builder and mark it as an optional custom planning field that can be added to an Event Template.

Event Attribute – The Event Attribute tied to this field, if applicable.
- Note: You can remove the selected attribute by clicking the Remove Attribute button next to it. If a list select attribute is selected, then the list select options will override and replace anything previously configured for the question.

Answer Type – The format of this field’s answer. Options include:
- Open Ended
- Note: This will be automatically disabled from selection when a list select attribute is selected.
- Text
- Single Selection
- Multi-Selection
- Note: If only one response is configured, it cannot be deleted.
- Dropdown
- Single Selection
- Multi-Selection
- Note: If only one response is configured, it cannot be deleted.
- Open Ended

Validation – This will only display for open ended answer types. Options for validation include:
- None
- Currency
- Numbers
Ensure to save the drawer to add the new field to the list.
All custom event planning fields

Custom event planning fields are unique fields that can be added to the Event Planning section of the Event Template Builder. Custom fields that are not listed as a default creation field will live in the All Custom Event Planning Fields list.
List actions

You can complete the following actions from this list.
- Search bar – This will allow you to search the list for the characters entered.
- + Add New Field – When clicked, this will allow you to add a new custom field.

- Delete – This will delete the field from the list.
- Add to Default – This will add the field as a default creation field that will auto-populate the Event Planning section of the Event Builder.
- Question Required – When enabled, this will mark the question as required to complete within the Event Builder if the event was created using an event template that includes this field.
Custom fields in the Event Template Builder
Users do not need this access to add custom event planning fields to an event template.

When adding new planning fields to an event template, custom fields that are created within the Custom Event Planning Fields section will be listed as Pre-Configured Custom Fields in the plus icon’s dropdown menu. You can then select from both default and optional fields to include in your event template.
Reporting
You can report on the planning field question and answer within the Event Specific Report in order to further analyze key data points for an event.
Permissions

Users will need to have the Custom Event Planning Fields permission in order to create, manage, and view all custom planning fields created for campus events.
However, users do not need this access to add custom event planning fields to an event template.
