Use cases Add a custom validation Custom validation logic

Custom validations allow you to restrict what a candidate can input within a form field.

    Use cases

    • Custom validations are important with integrations and information consistency for managing candidates.

    Add a custom validation

Users with full access to Forms can complete the following steps.

    1. Select the All Apps menu in the top left corner of the page and then Settings from its drop-down menu.
    2. When the Settings page opens, select Forms under the Jobs section.
    3. The Candidate Forms list will then open. Open the preferred form and then form section.
    4. Find the task that should have validation added.
    5. Selection its action menu, or ellipses, and then Add validation.
    6. A Validation selector will then display. Select your preferred validation option from this selector. Options include:
      • Custom Numeric
      • Custom Alphanumeric
      • Custom Regex
    7. Select Save.
    8. Publish the form.

    Custom validation logic

When these validations are selected, the following should be the validation messages shown to the candidate/user filling out the form:

    • Alphanumeric:
      • If the number of characters is specified: “Response must be _ letters or numbers.”
      • If the number of characters is not specified: “Response must only contain letters or numbers.”
    • Numeric:
      • If the number of digits is specified: “Response must be _ digits.”
      • If the number of digits is not specified: “Response must only contain numbers.”
    • Regex:
      • Regex is used for creating entirely configurable validations to be as specific as necessary. Contact your CS Representative to configure this validation for you.
