After you create a phone number, you can configure how candidates and employees interact with it.

Edit phone numbers and keyword settings

Every phone number or keyword type has different settings, depending on its use case. Visit the specific phone number type article for more information.

To configure the phone number and keyword settings:

    1. Select All Apps in the upper-left corner of the header, and then select Settings.
    2. On the Settings page, select Channels under Platform.
    3. Using the Channels left-pane, select the desired phone number type for your use case (for example, Phone Numbers, Referral, Campaign and Outreach, or Event).
      • Note: The Employee Communications numbers and Employee Numbers are read-only. You can view them in the drawer, but they cannot be edited here.
    4. Select the phone number or keyword to configure. The Edit Keyword drawer opens on the right.
    5. From the Conversation dropdown menu, select the default conversation that the phone number will use. This is required for the phone number to be functional.
    6. If Candidate Types (Internal/External) and Job Posting Types is enabled for your account (learn more in the Job Posting Types documentation), using the Audience Type dropdown menu, select the audience type between the following options:
      • Internal: Candidates can only be shown and apply to internal jobs.
      • External: Candidates can only be shown and apply to external jobs.
    7. From the QR Code Keyword field, update the preferred keyword associated with this phone number.
      • Note: You can select Download to save the QR code file. When a candidate scans the code, their SMS app opens with the keyword pre-filled for this number. Learn more in Dynamic QR codes.
    8. Toggle on or off the Knowledge Base setting. When enabled, you can select your knowledge base from the following options (options depend on your account settings):
      • Contextual Candidate Q&A
      • Candidate Q&A
      • Employee Q&A
      • Employee Contextual Q&A
    9. Toggle on or off the Job Search setting to activate job search functionality.
    10. If the account uses Integrated Jobs (External ATS Job Management), using the Job Feed dropdown menu, select the desired job feed.
    11. From the How would you like to start the interaction? dropdown menu, select how the job search interaction initially begins from the following options:
      • Capture Conversation
      • Contextual Candidate Q&A/Candidate Q&A
      • Job Search
      • Talent Community
    12. Toggle on or off the Select start language setting so you can manually select the starting language.
      • Note: When this setting is toggle off, Paradox uses the language associated with the candidate's phone country code, and the Which language would you like to start the interaction? dropdown menu is hidden.
    13. Using the Which language would you like to start the interaction? dropdown menu, select the preferred initial language.
    14. If Job Search is toggled on, configure the Job Search Parameters section with the following settings:
      • Toggle on or off the Allow candidate to search for job location setting, which allows candidates to search for jobs that fall outside of the parameters set below.
      • Review the Attribute Settings as needed. The parameter is read only and automatically set based on the selected Audience Type (Internal or External) for the channel. In order to change the value, update the audience type.
      • Add additional attributes as needed by following the steps below:
        • Select the + Add Attribute button to include additional parameters.
        • Select the desired Attribute from Standard Job Attributes and Custom Job Attributes.
        • Toggle on or off the Limit search to attribute values setting to restrict search results only to the targeted jobs.
        • Enter the associated Value(s).
