Parent toggles can only be enabled by your CS Representative/Paradox Admin.
The Employee Communications section of Client Setup enables the Employee Communications product and includes the following settings:
-
Employee Communications – This enables the Employee Communications product for the account. This will be enabled for you if approved for use. NOTE: When enabled, a new phone number section called Employe AI Phone Number will be added to the Phone Numbers page, which is used for communications and direct messages sent from the assistant. This does not auto-enable Employee Care/Q&A. This must be enabled in the Q&A section of Client Setup.
-
Disable Manually Responding to Employees as Themself – This toggle is off by default. When a user wants to have a direct chat with an employee they have permission to, they will have an Employee Phone Number, which is separate from the Employee AI Phone Number, that is used when sending messages as themselves to employees. When this toggle is turned on, logged in users can only send direct messages as the account's assistant. Our system will show in the UI who actually sent the message as the assistant, but it will be sent as if it was sent from the assistant, since it's sent from the same number.
- Why would a client turn this on? Some customers do not want their managers to be able to send direct messages to employees as themselves. Despite them being able to say who they are when texting as the assistant, it's a way to ensure that employees are only getting messages from one phone number instead of multiple.
-
Employee Data Source – The source of employee data that is brought in from the system. When selected, the logo from these companies will populate in the Employees app. Options include:
- ADP
- SAP
- Workday
- Allow all contact methods for verification code delivery and Data Feeds validation – When the account's login method is set to EID, this toggle will be used to determine whether or not we will allow for all contact methods to be displayed to the user. If this toggle is off, the system will only display one form of email (Work Email Address) and one form of phone number (Personal Phone Number), even if the employee has two phone numbers and two emails mapped appropriately.
- Default Employee Data Retention Period – This sets the employee data retention policy for the account.
-
Global Employee Data Retention – This will allow you to set a period of time for data retention on a per country basis. Countries that aren’t added here will follow the Default Employee Data Retention Period value set for the account.

Start Date Attribute Preference – The selected attribute here will be used for the following communication templates: Check In, 30 Day Check In, 60 Day Check In, 90 Day Check In. Options include:
- Start Date (default)
- Hire Date
-
Generated Summaries – This will display within Communications and generate a summary when a communication has over 50 responses. This is helpful in digesting a large volume of employee responses to an active communication. Despite this functionality using LLMs, we do not require the Contextual AI toggle to be on for this feature to be used.
- Note: This is the only toggle required for this functionality to be live.
