Conditional logic in evaluations

You can add conditional logic based off a user answering a question. You can do this by accessing the Conditional Logic drawer in two different ways:
- Selecting the three-dotted action menu for a question and selecting Add Conditional Logic.
- Selecting the three-dotted action menu for a question, selecting Edit Question, and then adding conditional logic from the Additional Settings section.
From there, follow the steps below to add conditional logic to your question:
- Define the outcome for the default condition.
- Next Question – This takes the person filling out the evaluation to the next question.
- End Evaluation – This ends the evaluation.
- Skip Question – This takes the person filling out the evaluation to a future question, skipping the questions in-between.
- Define targeting rules based on evaluation responses by filling out the below:
- Select Response – Select what responses to target. The options in this drop-down menu depend on the possible responses you configured for the question.
-
Select Outcome – Select what the outcome based on the response:
- Next Question – This takes the person filling out the evaluation to the next question.
- End Evaluation – This ends the evaluation.
- Skip Question – This takes the person filling out the evaluation to a future question, skipping the questions in-between.
- (Optional) Add any additional conditional logic to other responses by selecting Add Response.
- In the lower-right corner, select Apply to apply once you have finished adding all desired conditional logic to the question.
- Repeat steps #1-4 as desired for all questions within the evaluation.
The conditional logic configured for each question should then display below the question.
If multi-select for a question is not enabled and multiple responses are selected when building out conditional logic, then they act as OR operators. If multi-select for a question is enabled and multiple responses are selected when building out conditional logic, then they act as AND operators.
Reorder question answers
If your first answer is intended to be the highest/best ranking, then you must reorder your answers so that the highest number equals the highest/best response. Otherwise, the system will note Answer #1 as the lowest/worst rating due to its low value.
You can easily flip the answers to a question so that the last response is the first and the first is the last. This can be beneficial to use when you want to list the more positive answers first.

To do this, open the corresponding question in a slide-out drawer and then click the Reorder Answers button in the top right corner of the Answers section. Ensure to save the question.
Reorder evaluation questions

After creating all of your questions, you may find it helpful to rearrange the questions to make the survey flow more logically. You can do this by clicking the Reorder Questions button in the top right corner of the Questions section.
- Note: This button will only appear once two or more questions are added to the survey.

A Reorder Questions modal will open where you can click the rearrange icon at the end of the preferred question and then drag and drop the question in the desired place. Click the Save button to save the changes made.
- Note: Questions can only be reorganized before a survey is initially published.
Delete survey questions

You can delete a question from the survey by clicking the questions action menu, or ellipses, and then select Delete Question in the menu that opens. A warning modal will appear where you will confirm the removal of the question.
Preview and publish a survey
If an evaluation has been used to evaluate a candidate, then it cannot be edited

When previewing the evaluation, you will only see it within one view since employees can only complete the evaluation within the CEM. Click the arrows listed at the bottom of the preview to navigate between questions.
If any updates need to be made, ensure to navigate back to the Content section to make the necessary changes.

When finished, click the Draft status in the top right corner of the section and then Publish from its dropdown. This will mark the evaluation as active.
Manage evaluations
Edit an evaluation
You can always edit an evaluation at any time, even if it is associated with an ongoing or upcoming hiring event. This gives you complete flexibility to:
- Add, edit, or delete questions
- Add, edit, or delete answers
- Reorder questions or answer options
While the system now allows for these changes, we generally recommend making minor edits to evaluations once they're in use. This helps maintain consistency for candidates and evaluators.
When you edit an evaluation, here are the following impact on users filling out the evaluation:
- In-Progress Evaluations: If a user is actively filling out an evaluation when you publish an edit, they'll continue with the original version they started.
- Edited Evaluations: Any user who starts that evaluation after your edits are published will complete the new, edited version.
The original version of an evaluation that a user completed about a candidate is always preserved and displayed on their profile.

If an evaluation is associated with an ongoing or upcoming hiring event, then the Evaluation Dependencies modal displays, indicating the hiring event dependencies associated with the evaluation.
Delete or duplicate an evaluation

You can easily delete or duplicate an evaluation by hovering over the evaluation in the evaluations list and clicking its action menu, or ellipses. A menu will then open where you can select and take the preferred action.
You can't delete an evaluation if it's currently associated to an event (whether past, ongoing, or upcoming), even if no candidates have been evaluated with it yet. The evaluation must be removed from the event first before it is deleted.
Add an evaluation to a Campus Event
Evaluations are added to a Campus Event from its Tools section.
- Open the Tools section of the preferred event.
- Click Candidate Evaluations.

- On the new page that opens, click the evaluation that will be tied to this event. Only one evaluation can be selected per event and can be changed at any time.
-
Note: A Create new Evaluation button will be displayed at the bottom of this selector. When clicked, you will be redirected to a new browser tab with a new evaluation automatically opened.
